Ink Brush

This is a drawing of a paint brush that I created using an ink pen! This drawing was originally for an assignment that required the use of an ink pen.

For this, I wanted to use a variety of shading techniques, with a focus on hatching and stippling. By doing so, I was not only able to shade the image, but give it texture as well. Then, I took a picture of a paint brush and recreated it with a thin, sharpie, ink pen. One of the reasons I decided to use stippling was because I actually didn’t understand it at the time. I really wanted to try to perfect the use of it, so I decided to give it a shot! I think I turned out rather well.

This drawing was an important lesson to me because it was one of my first projects that I strove to learn something from, instead of relying on what I already knew. To this day I always strive to learn with my work, not letting my knowledge limit my potential.
